# What is it about?
Interviews are arranged conversations with two parties: the questioner and one or more respondents.
# The goal
In contextual interviews, holistic information will be asked for. A suitable question and detailed answers of the interviewees should provide detailed and contextually classifiable information.
# How to do it?
- Think in advance about the topics you would like to discuss and the questions that need to be answered. Put yourself in the role of the user and think about what occupies him.
- Avoid closed and pre-formulated questions.
- Invite the interviewee(s) to the interview. Individual interviews are preferable.
- Orient yourself on your questions during the interview, wgile also keeping the natural flow of conversation.
- Listen carefully to your interviewee. Ask for the background to her statements.
- Record the information and answers during the interview.
- Review, analyse and summarise the collected information after the interview. Name the most interesting findings and statements.

Interviews are very useful for getting to know users and their needs. You also get to know their context, which opens up a broad view of the user and her environment.

# Keep in mind
The quality of the interview depends on the selection of the right interview partners. Select users from the mainstream as well as "extreme" user groups with special features. In addition, it is important to act as a neutral conversation partner and not to evaluate the topics and answers in the interview.
