# What is it about?

By changing the current location, new ways of thinking and perspectives are created. In the best case, this location is associatively linked to one of the questions to be solved.

# The goal

Stimulated by the change of situation, the participants generate new ideas, which are then exchanged in smaller groups.

# How to do it?

  1. Each for him/herself: site exploration (25 minutes)

    • 5 minutes: By taking a walk, find a suitable outdoor location that symbolizes the current state of the question.

    • 20 minutes: Explore potential development perspectives for new ideas, plans and innovations.

      • What impulses and consequences exist to change the current location?
      • Act on these impulses and move in the desired direction. Pay attention to what is moving and changing (in your organization).
      • Which movements and steps feel coherent, which feel less so?
  2. Group: Brainstorming (40 minutes)

    • 5 minutes (per participant): Concise presentation of the most important findings. Group members are allowed to ask questions and take notes

    • 20 minutes: Documentation of the findings on sticky notes. Brainstorm together as a team based on the previously gained insights and ideas.

# When do you need it?

The Creative Walk is a great method for being inspired by a new perspective in one's own way of thinking and sharing the findings with the group. This allows synergies to be utilized by the entire team and positively impacted by new perspectives.

# Resources

  • sticky notes & pens
  • whiteboard

# Advantages

The Creative Walk promotes the creativity of employees, which is also transferred to many areas of work and life. By changing perspectives, new ideas can be generated and the mindset of the participants can be sustainably changed. Another advantage is the utilization of the synergies created by the teamwork.

# Disadvantages

(Very) bad weather conditions or roads that are too full and hectic traffic can put a spanner in the works of this method, as the participants cannot concentrate on the essentials.

# Keep in mind

This method should be used in an appropriate situation.
